Street Dreams is the brainchild of Jay and Jade, who met whilst studying at university, and discussing how they could save the world together.
Jay grew up in Hackney, and spent his teenage years getting into a lot of trouble; Jade grew up in Istanbul, also spending her teenage years taking part in non conventional activities. Their backgrounds (and what they used to get up to) are the starting point for the compassion they have for helping others, with a special interest in helping young people to find their true potential in life.
Street Dreams started 9 years ago, when Jay was volunteering for different youth organisations and the Thames Valley Police, when the then Area Commander asked him to become a member of their Independent Advisory Panel. Jay accepted this offer, and then during one of the meetings he was asked to come up with a project that would look at the problems the Police were having with young people in the council estates of Oxford. Jay then asked Jade if she would like to jump on board, and the rest is history…
Since then Street Dreams has worked on a wide variety of community projects, in some of the most deprived communities of the South East, including Bletchley, Blackbird Leys, Barton, Banbury, Luton, High Wycombe, Chesham Pond Park etc
Street Dreams is currently focussing its energies on Buckinghamshire, working mainly in High Wycombe, Aylesbury and Chesham.
